At home that shows up as a bill you can't plan around. In a business it shows up in the cost of everything you make or sell, month after month, whether trade was good or not.
The part most people miss
It isn't only the rate per unit. There's a fixed monthly charge you pay before you've used anything at all, and it goes up too. That's how a bill rises in a month you used less.
Where gas comes into it
Solar covers what a property uses as electricity. Gas covers cooking, hot water and heat, and it carries on through an outage because it never needed the grid in the first place. Most properties want one or the other. Some want both, and then it is one team and one set of certificates instead of two.
Gas runs the same way, minus the cleaning. We quote it off a site visit, install it, test and certify it, and service it on an interval set by where you live rather than by the maximum allowed. The readings go to you in writing either way.
Stellenbosch
A new residential development for a private client. A 12kW system, 18 panels and 15kWh of battery storage.
Noordhoek
A private residence on three phase. One 8kW inverter and 10kWh of battery on each phase, with 21 panels.
Rondebosch Prep
A school, sized for backup rather than for saving. Six 12kW inverters and 250kWh of battery storage, no panels.
If you drive an electric car, or plan to
A car doesn't mind whether it charges at two in the afternoon or two in the morning, only that it's full when you leave. Charge it while the sun is up and you're running it on power you made instead of power you bought. The same goes for a bakkie or a van standing at a business through the trading day. Tell us at the site visit and we size for it from the start, which costs a good deal less than growing the system later. Fitting the charger is electrical work, so Sunlogic Electrical does that part.
